The Greenview First Baptist Church family of faith seeks to fulfill the Great Commission as directed by Jesus Christ in Matthew 28: 18-20. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the son and of the holy spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
The Greenview First Baptist Church further seeks to accomplish this by focusing on the writings of Paul as recorded in the Ephesians 4:11-12. We strive to equip believers from within our multinational-generational church congregation to learn their spiritual gifts in order to do the work of the ministry, realizing the we have various gifts, talents and abilities. “And his gifts were that some should be apostles, some to be prophets. some to be evangelists. and some to be pastors and teachers to equip the saints for the work of ministry. for building up the body of Christ…..”
The Greenview First Baptist Church’s vision is connected to its biblical mission. As believers commanded by Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit to serve and care for humanity, we pray, worship, study, fellowship, minister to persons in need, liberate the oppressed, promote peace, and practice discipleship, evangelism, stewardship, and social justice in the Spirits of God’s unconditional love.
The task of empowering and equipping believers of different generations to do the work of the ministry involves two approaches. that of maintaining the best of the traditions that continue to meet those spiritual needs, and of developing ministries designed to address the present age needs of the diverse categories of people within our multi-generational community.
